  1. I love roses Cath and the smell of them. My Mom passed away in August, 5 years ago, so I can relate to the words on the photo.

  2. Just perfect because I know someone who needs this right now. How did you know?

  3. To me, poetry is really about the imagination and emotions evoked, more than just the pretty words. You do this so well, Cath.

  8. Thank you so much y'all for reading and commenting on my little verse. The roses came from my sister's garden. That was an early spring day, and we took them to her husband's grave.

    @Nelieta: I lost my dad in 2000 and still miss him. Those words were for all the loved ones we have lost.

    @Thom: I am glad this humble post could bring comfort to someone.

    @Joy Page Manuel: Thanks Joy, sometimes they come quickly to my mind and sometimes I mull them around for a while before they are ready. This one was rolling around my thoughts for about a week.

    @hocam: thanks Mary. xo

    @Vix anonymous: 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables. That is all it takes to write haiku. I write them out, like drawing a picture, then move the words around until they resonate with me. Try it.

    @Hajra: I toned it down for the photo. In reality they are blindingly brilliant. Thanks! xo

    @MuMuGB: Thanks Muriel! xo

    @Dangerous Linda: Thanks for reading and commenting. :D

    Thanks all for the lovely sentiments.
