beginnings

This will be my 313th post published since I began blogging almost 18 months ago.

But more importantly, after three failed attempts to complete a month of daily blog posting, this will be my first time crossing the finish line.  How does it feel to succeed? Dang good.

Thank you NaBloPoMo, for making me:
Push the outside of the envelope I was tucked so securely into.
Stretch my creativity.
Set goals and stick to them.
Feel empowered.

An added bonus: discovering some marvelous new blogs. And the feeling of camaraderie that comes from sharing feelings and thoughts with other people who shared the same January Beginnings boat with me. It was nice to know what others were thinking, and how they were dealing with their own goals.

Thank you to all of you who take the time to read my simple thoughts. It's a nice feeling to know that I am not spewing words into a void.

Gratitude. A lesson learned as a child, and reinforced this month.

Thank you.

  2. Congratulations- that is a wonderful accomplishment! My goal for this month is the opposite of yours- to blog less often. Making a goal and then sticking to itis sublime!

    1. Yes you are right Shelly, it is nice to feel a sense of accomplishment. I'm still undecided whether I will jump in or not. I am thinking of the art projects and photography projects that are waiting for me, so I am thinking that February is going to be a focus on art for me. :D

  3. Love your blogs. I found you through a friend. Your accomplishment is admirable. I have only been blogging for a couple of months now and find it a great release.

    1. I found your blog through the same friend. :D I started my blog impulsively because of a certain little great niece of mine who had fun one day going through my purse and putting on my lipstick (with my permission). I wanted to share it, and so I blogged. And here I am, about 18 months later, still blogging. :D Good luck with yours, but more importantly, enjoy it.

    1. Good luck with your blog. I am glad you enjoyed mine. I used to envy people who had blogs that focused on one interest or passion, but finally realized that mine is all over the place in topics because my interests are all over the place in real life. The blogs I enjoy the most are those that ring clear like a bell, and reflect the author's personality. It comes through in the writing. Thanks for your comments, I always enjoy reading what other people think. :D

  5. Cath congratulations on completing a month of daily blog posting!! I am impressed and haven't been able to do it myself. You sure are an inspiration. It would be too much of a commitment for me and I was wondering what helped you this time around to get to the finishing line? I would love to know :)

    1. I think determination helped me this time around Diana. I spent more time thinking about what I was going to post than I did last time, and just made myself do it. It isn't something I want to do every month. I just don't think I have that much of interest to say on a daily basis, and I don't like the stress of it, to be honest, because I have enough stress in my daily life and feel that blogging should be inspiration (for me) and not exercise. I know this goes against what many professional writers say, but I don't consider myself a writer, I consider myself an artist, and writing is my way of sharing what I am thinking, and that's all. I do think the haiku photos I do are more art than writing, and love doing those. I admire anyone who can just sit down and write on a daily basis. And think that maybe down the road I might just give it a go again. But I want to devote the month of February to several art projects I have going. And spend more time with my camera, if the weather will ever let me!

Thanks for the congratulations and comments Diana!
